Skills can run code on your machine — read the SKILL.md first.

What it does

In the author's own words, from each skill's SKILL.md.

  • Ableton Bassline

This skill should be used when the user asks to "write a bassline", "make a bass line from these chords", "give me a reggae/funk/house/lofi bass", "add bass to this progression", or wants an idiomatic bassline generated over a chord progression in Ableton Live. Writes a bass MIDI track that follows the harmony in a chosen style.

  • Ableton Describe To MIDI

This skill should be used when the user describes music in natural language and wants it written into Ableton Live — "turn this description into MIDI", "generate a [mood] [instrument] motif", "write me an 8-bar [genre] [part] in [key]", "make a melancholic piano line in D dorian", or any free-form "make music that sounds like…" request. Translates a prose brief into a MIDI clip in the Set.

  • Ableton Drum Groove

This skill should be used when the user asks to "make a drum beat", "write a drum pattern", "give me a boom-bap/one-drop/house/trap/breakbeat groove", "add drums", or wants a style-specific drum MIDI pattern generated in Ableton Live. Writes a drum MIDI clip onto a Drum Rack track using the General-MIDI map.

  • Ableton Freeze Resample

This skill should be used when the user asks to "freeze a track", "resample/bounce to audio", "render stems", "commit this MIDI to audio", "print this track", or wants a MIDI/instrument track rendered to an audio file in Ableton Live. Uses renderPreFxAudio to bounce a track region and import it back as an audio clip.

  • Ableton FX Chain

This skill should be used when the user asks to "add effects", "build an FX chain", "lofi-ize / dub-ize this track", "process this track", "make it sound vintage/wide/gritty", or wants a tailored device chain inserted (and dialed) on a track in Ableton Live. Inserts an ordered effect chain with fallbacks and sets the key parameters.

  • Ableton Genre Cover

This skill should be used when the user asks to "make a [genre] version of [song]", "do a reggae/lofi/dub/ska cover of [theme]", "remix [song] in [style]", "turn [tune] into [genre]", or wants a full multi-track arrangement of a known melody/theme rendered in a target genre inside Ableton Live. Builds drums, bass, chords/skank, pad, and lead tracks with appropriate instruments and FX.

  • Ableton Humanize

This skill should be used when the user asks to "humanize this MIDI", "add swing", "apply a groove", "make it less robotic/quantized", "loosen the timing", or "shape the velocities" of an existing MIDI clip in Ableton Live. Reads a clip's notes and rewrites them with micro-timing, swing, and velocity dynamics.

  • Ableton Live Runner

This skill should be used when the user asks to "drive Ableton from code", "run an Ableton extension", "set up the Ableton SDK", "compose into Ableton Live", "write MIDI into Live", or whenever any other ableton-* skill needs to actually build, run, and connect an Extension SDK project to Ableton Live. Provides the SDK setup, API cheatsheet, beta gotchas, the reusable extension scaffold, and the…

  • Ableton Quick Mix

This skill should be used when the user asks to "rough mix", "balance the levels", "set track volumes/pans", "set up sends", "give me a starting mix", or wants a sensible starting balance applied across tracks in Ableton Live. Sets mixer volume, panning, and sends via the API.

  • Ableton Reharmonize

This skill should be used when the user asks to "reharmonize", "jazz up these chords", "add 7ths/9ths", "make this progression richer", "reharmonize this MIDI clip", "give me lusher chords", or wants an existing chord progression in Ableton re-voiced with extensions, modal interchange, or substitutions. Reads an existing MIDI clip and writes a reharmonized chord track.

  • Ableton Sample Chopper

This skill should be used when the user asks to "chop a sample", "load a sample into Simpler", "make a beat from this sample", "slice this loop", "map a sample across the keys", or wants an audio file imported and turned into a playable instrument in Ableton Live. Imports audio and loads it into a Simpler, then writes MIDI to repitch (reliable) or replay it.

  • Ableton Theory Coach

This skill should be used when the user asks to "analyze this clip", "what chords/key/scale is this", "explain the harmony", "what's the progression", "show me the voice-leading", or wants a music-theory explanation of MIDI already in Ableton Live. Reads a clip's notes and explains the harmony, scale, and voice-leading (optionally in a WebView).

  • Ableton Tone Recipes

This skill should be used when the user asks to "dial in a [sound]", "recreate a Rhodes/dub-bass/supersaw tone", "set device parameters", "build a patch without presets", "make this synth sound like X", or wants a tone designed parametrically in Ableton Live. Inserts a native device and SETS its parameters via the API (since browser presets cannot be loaded).

  • Ableton Topline

This skill should be used when the user asks to "write a melody", "give me a topline", "add a lead over these chords", "write a vocal melody", "make a hook/motif over this progression", or wants a singable melodic line generated above an existing chord progression in Ableton Live. Writes a lead/topline MIDI track that fits the harmony.

Review before you install

A skill is a set of instructions and scripts your agent will follow, and it can run code on your machine. Read the SKILL.md and any scripts first — this listing is not a security review.
