Install

Skills CLI

npx skills add V-Songbird/foreman

Asks which skills and agents to install. Just one: npx skills add V-Songbird/foreman --skill craft-prompt — add -g for every project.

Claude Code

git clone https://github.com/V-Songbird/foremancp -r "foreman/skills/craft-prompt" ~/.claude/skills/

Copies the craft-prompt skill into ~/.claude/skills/ for every project (use .claude/skills/ for one project). Repeat for the other skills listed below.

Plugin

/plugin marketplace add V-Songbird/foreman

Run inside Claude Code if the repository ships a plugin marketplace, then pick plugins from /plugin.

Skills can run code on your machine — read the SKILL.md first.

What it does

In the author's own words, from each skill's SKILL.md.

  • craft-prompt

Advanced surface, separate from Foreman's core roadmap job — a standalone prompt builder for work that has no roadmap entry behind it. Use on an explicit prompt-crafting request. Builds or refines a self-contained prompt for a fresh session following Foreman's template: asks which optional sections to include, gathers the missing intent, grounds paths and checks, assembles the XML, then runs it h…

  • foreman

The one entrance to Foreman, which keeps a project's plan and task history. Say what you want in plain language and this routes it to one of the six things Foreman does to a project: add work, show status, correct work, check the roadmap, pick work, or reconcile and pick. It owns no flow of its own. Use for Foreman or roadmap requests, not ordinary implementation work.

  • init

Bootstraps a project's ROADMAP.jsonl and .foreman/config.json from the user's goals and the repository, or appends to an existing roadmap. Asks only what the request leaves open — what the project is, its near-term goals, and whether an inferred draft looks right — then writes and commits only the files it changes, leaving every optional behavior at its built-in default. The ledger and checkpoint…

  • roadmap

Ongoing entry point for a project's ROADMAP.jsonl. Pick the next task to work on (ranks candidates deterministically by dependencies and file-touch collisions, shows why each is where it is, then crafts a self-contained handoff prompt), add a new task, correct a stale one, accept, resume, defer, archive, or restore work, review roadmap status, or check the roadmap's structural health.

  • survey

Advanced surface, normally reached through the `foreman` entrance's Reconcile and pick mode, which hands it a near-term set of ids to scope the pass to. Ground-truths the roadmap's near-term candidates against the actual codebase — a read-only investigation checks whether each candidate's planned_touches/depends_on still match reality, then proposes a concrete, evidence-backed repair for every fi…

Review before you install

A skill is a set of instructions and scripts your agent will follow, and it can run code on your machine. Read the SKILL.md and any scripts first — this listing is not a security review.
